The current Dunkin' Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade (with 6ABC/WPVI as broadcast partner) will run Thursday, November 26, 2026, with live TV coverage beginning 8:30 am. Actual parade step-off is 8:30 am, and the front of the parade reaches the Philadelphia Museum of Art steps around 11:30 am.

The 1.4-mile route: starts at 20th Street and JFK Boulevard, moves east on JFK, turns onto 16th Street, joins the Benjamin Franklin Parkway heading northwest, and ends at the Art Museum. Expect the usual mix of high school marching bands from across PA and NJ, giant character balloons, floats sponsored by local businesses, and (weather permitting) an appearance by Santa Claus at the parade's tail.

Road closures + parking reality

The Streets Department publishes the parade closure map a week out. Standard pattern:

• Benjamin Franklin Parkway: closed 16th Street to Art Museum from 5:00 am through 1:00 pm.
• JFK Boulevard: closed 16th to 20th during the same window.
• 20th Street: closed Market to Vine.
• All Parkway cross-streets: closed during parade movement.

Public garage availability is thin — most Center City garages either operate holiday hours (later opens, fewer attendants) or fill by 8:00 am with residents-relatives and out-of-town visitors. After drop-off, the driver stages at a pre-approved lot (typically the Convention Center area, University City, or Fairmount) and returns to the pickup zone by 12:00 pm for a scheduled 12:30 or 1:00 pm departure.
